Athiel's Poem
Every day the young women of RefuSHE inspire us with their stories, voices, and strength. Today, we are proud to share a piece of that through Athiel's profound poetry.
At sixteen years of age, and in her distinctly tender voice, Athiel expresses through poetry the story of her "lost" childhood resulting from South Sudan's brutal war. Despite being forced to flee her home, the loss of her parents, and the heavy responsibility of caring for her younger siblings, Athiel exemplifies the true resilience of the young women who RefuSHE serves.

A Name That Inspires: Our Renaming
For the past 10 years, we have built a one-of-a-kind holistic model for serving refugee girls in Kenya, and in the process, transformed thousands of lives. As we enter a new decade, we feel the need to make an even greater impact. To position the organization for future success and better deliver our mission, we have decided to re-brand our organization with a new logo and a new name that allows us to take a leadership position in the global conversation on refugee girls.
