RefuSHE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting refugee girls and young women in Kenya. We provide comprehensive support services, including safe shelter, education, case management, legal assistance, and advocacy, to empower refugee girls to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity

Position Summary

The purpose of this consultancy is to design and deliver a 4-week ICT Mentorship Program targeting up to 30 young refugee women, with the goal of equipping them with practical digital skills to engage in and benefit from the gig economy. 

Objective

To design and deliver a 4-week ICT Mentorship Program for up to 30 young refugee women (ages 18–24), aimed at building practical digital skills for participation in the gig economy.

Expected Outcomes:

• Prepare participants for online work through training, mentorship, and job linkages.

• Support each participant to earn a minimum of KES 15,000/month.

• Achieve a combined program income of over KES 400,000 within three months.

• Link at least 15 participants to freelance jobs or digital internships.

Participants:
Young refugee women (18–24 years) with basic digital literacy (MS Office proficiency).

Scope of Work

Phase 1: Learning & Platform Familiarization (Weeks 1–2)

• Training on freelancing platforms (Upwork, Fiverr, Surveyoo, etc.)

• Account setup, task quality, and online work ethics

Phase 2: Guided Earning (Weeks 2–4)

• Mentored participation in real digital tasks

• Support in managing payments and optimizing profiles

• Access to freelance job opportunities

Ongoing Mentorship & Support

• Peer and professional mentorship

• Hands-on coaching and feedback

• Financial orientation on income management

• Encouragement to sustain personal freelancing accounts

Monitoring & Reporting

• Weekly check-ins with the RefuSHE team

• Final report with performance metrics, earnings data, and sustainability recommendations

Deliverables

• Comprehensive implementation plan

• Detailed training content for each platform

• Weekly and monthly income trackers

• Training schedule

• Individual Income Profile Plans (IPPs)

• Cost breakdowns for each deliverable

• Final mentorship report and recommendations

Timeline

Consultancy Period: 17 November– 11 December 2025
Final Deliverables Due: 14 December 2025

Required Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of the gig economy and online work trends

• Experience in digital skills training, mentorship, and job placement

• Demonstrated success in similar projects

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proposal Evaluation

• Relevance and clarity of methodology

• Evidence of similar past work

• Technical soundness of proposal

• Competitive and realistic financial proposal
