RefuSHE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting refugee girls and young women in Kenya. We provide comprehensive support services, including safe shelter, education, case management, legal assistance, and advocacy, to empower refugee girls to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity

Position Summary

The purpose of this consultancy is to design and deliver a 3-month ICT Mentorship Program targeting up to 30 young refugee women, with the goal of equipping them with practical digital skills to engage in and benefit from the gig economy. 

Expected Outcomes:

• Prepare participants for online work through training, mentorship, and job linkages.

• Support each participant to earn a minimum of KES 15,000 during the program.

• Achieve a combined program income of over KES 400,000 within the 4-week period.

• Link at least 15 participants to freelance job opportunities or digital internships.

Participants:
Young refugee women (18–24 years) with basic digital literacy (MS Office proficiency).

Scope of Work

Phase 1: Learning & Platform Familiarization (Week 1–2)

• Training on digital freelancing platforms (Upwork, Fiverr, Surveyoo, etc.)

• Account creation, task quality, and online work ethics

Phase 2: Guided Earning (Week 3–4)

• Mentored participation in real digital tasks

• Guidance on managing payments and optimizing profiles

• Access to freelance job opportunities

Ongoing Mentorship & Support

• Peer and professional mentorship

• Hands-on coaching and feedback sessions

• Financial orientation on income management and savings

• Encouragement to sustain personal freelancing accounts

Monitoring & Reporting

• Weekly check-ins with the RefuSHE team

• Final report with performance metrics, earnings, and sustainability recommendations

Deliverables

• Comprehensive implementation plan

• Detailed training content for each freelancing platform

• Weekly income trackers

• Training schedule

• Individual Income Profile Plans (IPPs)

• Financial cost breakdowns per deliverable

• Final mentorship report with analysis and recommendations

Timeline

Consultancy Period: 17 November – 11 December 2025
Final Deliverables Due: 15 December 2025

Required Qualifications

• Proven understanding of the gig economy and online work trends

• Experience in digital skills training, mentorship, and job linkages

• Demonstrated success in similar short-term projects

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proposal Evaluation

• Strength of the technical proposal
